The hall was built for the Town Council and opened officially in September 1986. It is located close to Borehamwood Town Centre with adjoining car parking.
It was constructed to a high standard and was recently adapted to ensure that it is fully accessible to people with disabilities including the provision of special toilet facilities. It has a timber arched roof which gives a sense of space and height whilst maintaining a cosy atmosphere and a sprung maple floor which is ideal for dancing. Other facilities include a bar area and a fully equipped kitchen, a stage with adjoining dressing room and a piano.

It is available for hire during the week and at weekends although weekday availability is limited because there are a number of regular hirers. The maximum capacities are:
- 80 people for sit down dinners
- 100 people for parties
- 140 for theatre seating in rows
FAIRWAY HALL – RATES OF HIRE
The following rates per hour or part thereof apply from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2009
MONDAY TO FRIDAY
9.00am to 6.00pm £20.00
6.00pm to 11.00pm £25.00
11.00pm onwards £35.00
SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS
9.00am to 6.00pm £25.00
6.00pm to 11.00pm £35.00
11.00pm onwards £45.00
The basic charge includes use of tables/chairs, kitchen facilities and piano, if required .
All music must cease by 11pm ( Midnight on Saturdays).
The Hire period must include preparation/clearing up time.
Please ensure hall is licensed and suitable for your event.
A non-returnable deposit of 25% is payable on booking and the balance no later than 14 days prior to the date booked.
A refundable deposit cheque of £200 against damages, with cheque guarantee card number, is also required.
